By booking a bin cleaning service, you agree to be bound by our terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change without notice, from time to time, at our sole discretion, which is available for you to view on our website at any time and will be posted and updated immediately if any changes occur. Cleaning Schedule
- Our wheelie bin cleaning service operates on a four-weekly, quarterly, and one-off schedule until any service minimum visits are fulfilled or cancelled or until any other cleaning schedule is agreed upon between the customer and Happy Bins.
- Upon registering for our service, you will be contacted with cleaning dates and other relevant order details, and you must agree to order details at the time of registration.
- Thereafter, it is the responsibility of the customer to make themselves aware of the cleaning schedule, ensure the correct day of the week for collection day has been chosen at the time of booking or allocated to them, and make their bins available for cleaning on the correct days.
- Our service operates mostly all year; however, due to unexpected circumstances such as poor weather, equipment breakdown, delay in Council collections, and general unforeseeable operational challenges, rescheduling or refunds will be arranged with the customer as necessary.
- If your wheelie bins are unavailable for cleaning on a scheduled cleaning day (e.g., Holidays), please provide at least 48 hours notice for us to postpone your service to avoid extra charges.
- The customer agrees and authorizes happy bins to place a sticker on the bin(s) cleaned. These stickered bins are reoccurring bins agreed to be cleaned at the time of booking and bin swaps with other bins are not permitted. The condition of the bin(s) remains the responsibility of the customer.
Unable to clean
- Typically, as long as the local waste authority can empty your wheelie bin, we should be able to clean your wheelie bin. In the unlikely event that we choose not to or cannot clean your bin on the same day or the following day, prior notice will be given where possible, and a cleaning credit or refund may be preserved. If any rubbish remains in the bin after the waste collection, it will be at Happy Bins' discretion whether cleaning can be carried out. As a rule, to ensure the clean takes place, we ask that bins left out for cleaning are empty and waste-free; otherwise, a wheelie bin clean may not occur.
- If happy bins decide to clean the bin, then any rubbish that is removed from your bin will be placed in a tied bag and returned to your bin.
- Despite its good intentions to provide wheelie bins to customers and potential customers, Happy Bins reserves the right to cancel or refuse any cleaning and/or booking requests.
Payment Policy
- All payments are made by Master Card, Visa, American Express or Debit card unless a different payment method is agreed upon in writing before the service commences.
- The customer will assume all responsibility for the payment method used online and the card used to make such a purchase.
- The first payment will be deducted immediately, and ongoing service payments will be processed the day before or on the day of service.
- To avoid your service being interrupted, please update us as soon as possible if any contact details change. The customer’s responsible for ensuring we have the correct and current contact and payment details.
- We reserve the right to cancel our services if no payment has been received and current payment details have not been provided by the customer.
Cancellation Policy
- Our wheelie bin cleaning service plans are ongoing other than one-off cleans until the customer cancels the service by notifying Happy Bins by email or through the happybins.com.au website. An acknowledgement and confirmation email will be sent to you confirming the cancellation of any services.
- If a cancellation occurs before the first service, Happy Bins must be notified 48 hours prior to the scheduled service for a full refund. Otherwise, an administration fee of $55 will be charged to the customer's account and/or their nominated credit card.
- Cancel at any time with seven days' notice from your next bin clean date (subject to any minimum commitment fulfilment period). Suppose the customer is within the minimum commitment fulfilment period and seeks to cancel the bin cleaning service within this period. In that case, time will be applied from the date the notification is received by Happy bins and towards any minimum commitment period. Otherwise, if the customer seeks to stop the bin cleaning services immediately (and is within the minimum fulfilment period), an administration fee of $55 will be charged to the customer's account and/or their nominated credit card.
- For ongoing bin cleaning services cancellations and after the minimum commitment fulfilment period has finished, notifications are to be made in writing to Happy Bins (via email) or contact through the happybins.com.au website with a minimum of 7 days before when your next scheduled clean is to take place.
- If a cancellation stop occurs before seven (7) minimum days notification period, an administration fee of $55 will be charged to the customer’s account and their nominated credit card.
- All cancellations must be made by email or through the happybins.com.au website submitted in writing by contact through the happybins.com.au website. An acknowledgement and confirmation email will be sent to you confirming the cancellation of any services.
Customer Responsibilities
1. The customer will ensure the wheelie bins
– are adequately marked and identifiable to ensure correct bins will be cleaned
– are emptied and free of waste
– if the bins are not marked with the customer's address number, then the bins on the premises or the kerbside of the property are the bins to be cleaned
– Are left out of the curbside on the day of collection and the day after without any restrictions and safe access to the bins. That is, the bins will not be behind a fence gate, in an area where animals are located, and access to the bins are hazardous free to a person’s general own safety and well-being where the bin is located or any other circumstances which will prevent access; and
2. Failure to comply with the above will prevent Happy Bins from cleaning your bins, and the service fee will still apply.
3. If the Council or Waste Collector notifies the customer of any relevant change to the rubbish collection service, it is the customer's duty to ensure that happy bins are aware of such change.
4. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that we have the correct and current contact and your payment details. Please ensure we are updated as soon as possible if any of these details should change. Failure to do so may cause confusion and possibly unwanted charges.
5. If a customer relocates to an alternative address, any recurring service may be transferred to the new address if it is within Happy Bins' service area coverage as per the website, which is updated from time to time. Otherwise, a one-off service or a custom order booking may be applicable each time a clean is requested to the site address.
6. If it is not possible to transfer the subscription to a new address, a no charge of any remaining service fee will be arranged if advance notice of minimum of 7 days is given to happy bins. Existing minimum commitment fulfilment period for the current service and site still apply.
Health, Safety & Care
- Happy Bins may refuse to clean a wheelie bin for health, safety, or any other valid reason.
- Happy Bins is unable to clean bins contaminated with wet paint, glue, plaster, saw dust, excessive oil, or human or animal feces.
- Where we cannot wash your bins due to the contamination stated above, your service may still be charged.
- Stuck-on paints, graffiti, glues, and other permanent stains may not be removed with cleaning.
- Happy Bins will take all due care and diligence during a clean but will not be held responsible for any damages, harm, or loss to a wheelie bin, persons, or property reported after and during the event for which Happy Bins is not deemed liable.
- If access to any or all the bins is prevented as determined by the happy bins staff for whatever reason, this will still count as a ‘clean’, and the full-service fee will be payable. We have pre-allocated cleaning times, and our staff has still attended the site.
- Happy Bins reserves the right to charge for a visit made onsite at the requested site as per the order form address, regardless of whether no bin is cleaned and whether the terms and conditions have not been complied with by the customer.
- Bins are cleaned at the customer's premises. Upon booking, the bins are selected for cleaning, and any payment is for the same specific wheelie bin(s) cleaned on each occasion and at the address where the first clean took place.
- Happy Bins reserves the right to cancel or refuse any bookings.
Price Increases
Happy Bins may occasionally increase the cleaning fee upon giving one calendar month’s notice of such an increase. If the customer objects to such an increase, the customer shall notify us of such objection within that one-month notice period. Suppose the customer does not notify us of an objection to the proposed increases within the stipulated time. In that case, the increase shall be deemed accepted by the customer and apply from the date stipulated in the notice of the proposed increases.
